EU Directive 2023/970

EU Pay Transparency Directive

Adopted in May 2023, the directive mandates pay transparency obligations for employers across all 27 member states, with a transposition deadline of 7 June 2026.

  • Mandatory annual pay gap reporting for employers with 100+ employees
  • Joint pay assessments triggered when gap exceeds 5%
  • Right for workers to request pay information and comparator data
  • Pre-employment salary disclosure obligations
  • Prohibition on pay secrecy clauses
  • Penalties including compensation and fines for non-compliance
⚠ Transposition deadline: 7 June 2026
UK Equality Act 2010

UK Gender Pay Gap Reporting

Under the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017, private employers with 250 or more employees must publish gender pay gap data annually.

  • Mean and median gender pay gap percentage
  • Mean and median bonus pay gap percentage
  • Proportion of men and women receiving a bonus
  • Proportion of men and women in each pay quartile
  • Submission to government portal by 4 April each year
  • Narrative statement recommended alongside data
⚠ Annual reporting deadline: 4 April (private sector)

Trusted by Compliance and HR Leaders

"We operate across eight EU member states and the patchwork of transposition timelines was becoming unmanageable. Equate+ gave us a single view of all our obligations and we submitted our first reports three months ahead of deadline."

Rachel Thornton Chief People Officer, Meridian Group

"The UK GPG reporting used to take our team six weeks each year. With Equate+ it's down to three days. The audit trail functionality alone has been invaluable when our external auditors come knocking."

James Okafor Head of HR Compliance, Aldgate Financial

"The 5% joint pay assessment trigger under the EU Directive concerned us. Equate+ helped us identify the specific pay bands driving our gap and build a defensible remediation plan well ahead of the 2026 deadline."
